A Philosophical Argument against an Eternal Universe

Reasonable Faith’s first video explaining the kalam cosmological argument focused on scientific evidence to support its two premises—1) whatever begins to exist has a cause, and 2) the universe began to exist. Now they have a second video focusing on the second premise, giving philosophical arguments against the existence of an actual infinite:

If the universe did not have a beginning, then the number of past events in the history of the universe is infinite. But that’s a problem because the existence of an actually infinite number of past events leads to absurdity. It’s metaphysically impossible. Why?

The video goes on to give illustrations that demonstrate why an actually infinite number of events is impossible. The conclusion? The universe had a beginning, and therefore the universe had a cause. Check out the video below.
